-ABOUT-
Shannon K. Evans
Hi, I’m Shannon.
I write to explore the ways women make meaning, establish identity, and engage with the divine. My most recent book is The Mystics Would Like a Word, which I like to think carries the torch of the contemplative Catholic tradition, just with more sarcasm and the occasional curse word. I’m also the author of Feminist Prayers for My Daughter and Rewilding Motherhood, and my poetry and flash prose have been published by Literary Mama, Cordella, and Geez.
In my day job as the culture and spirituality editor for the National Catholic Reporter, I have the good fortune of helping other writers find and hone their own voices. In my free time I love laughing with my kids, napping with my pets, flopping onto the couch with a good novel, and strolling through the Main Street shops in my little Iowa town.
